creating sustainable events
This summer, in addition to the Summer of Recovery Tour, we partnered with the Safe Haven Recovery Engagement Center in Paoli Indiana for their Celebrate Orange County Recovery events.
Brittany Stout (Safe Haven’s founder) was an event host on the 2023 Summer of Recovery Tour, and that experience inspired her to organize her own event this summer!
Two Eight provided the band, sound, staging and event production assistance for the 3-hour event, which featured local recovery resources, stories of hope, a time of worship, and some party music from the Two Eight band and DJ Kevi Morse..
This is what we pray will happen in EVERY community where we host Summer of Recovery events in partnership with Indiana’s Division of Mental Health and Addiction. We want to see local community organizations come together to sponsor their own events to elevate stories of recovery and connect people to resources. Multiplying events that help people experience physical AND spiritual recovery is one of the most rewarding things we do.
Nothing is wasted
Last month, we had the opportunity to partner with Nothing is Wasted ministries and its founder Pastor Davey Blackburn to celebrate the launch of his new book, also titled ‘Nothing is Wasted’. Tragically, Davey’s story came into the national spotlight in 2015 when his pregnant wife Amanda was murdered in their Indianapolis home.
Now, 9 years later, he has published a book and launched a ministry that provides content, coaching, and community to help people find purpose in their pain.
As a pastor and friend, Davey is part of Two Eight’s extended family in the local church community and it was a blessing to provide musical worship, video, audio and event production services for his celebration. It was a privilege for us to help Davey proclaim that nothing - not even suffering - is wasted in the economy of God’s Kingdom.
New Music!!
Amber O’Brien joined Two Eight’s leadership team in 2022 as our Director of Operations. She is also a songwriter and recording artist and on August 2nd, her latest single Masterpiece dropped on all major streaming outlets. The song already has over 15,000 streams on Spotify - go give it a listen!
